Washington Capitals

It was the year 1974 when The Caps were born in Washington DC.They played in the Capital Centre, built by their founder, Abe Pollin. It was one of the worst inaugural seasons for a National Hockey League team. Milt Schmidt, the team's manager, saw the Washington Capitals run what may arguably be the worst season ever for a hockey team. Tom McVie saw little improvement in the team, sometimes losing by much, others coming close to win. In 1982, they finally saw the light, finishing third place that season. From 1982 on, they have reached one Stanley Cup final game, which they lost, and seized several Division titles. They would later move from the Capital Centre to the Verizon Center. Ted Leonsis took control of the team in 1999, and they have been improving ever since. One must come to admire these true fighters, buy Washington Capitals hockey tickets!
