Pittsburgh Pirates

Born as the Pittsburgh Alleghennies on April 30, 1887, they changed their name to the Pittsburgh Pirates soon after, in December 1891. Max Carey, Fred Clarke, Ralph Kiner, Pie Traynor, Arky Vaughan, Lloyd Waner and Paul Waner, among other Pirates, made it to the Hall of Fame. All of them played longer with that team than they did in any other Major League Baseball team. Not to mention Honus Wagner, who led them to a World Series Championship in 1909, Roberto Clemente, who won another one in 1971, and Mazeroski, who owned the 1960 World Series, too. They were indeed a family, as stated by Stargell, who saw them win the 1979 World Series. In 2001 they opened what was referred to as the best baseball park ever. Wanna join this one big family?
