Oakland Athletics

The Philadelphia Athletics Club was founded in 1901 with Connie Mack as manager (1901 - 1950), and boasted many respected Hall of Fame members in its ranks, such as Frank Baker, Chief Bender, Ty Cobb, Mickey Cochrane, Nelson Fox, Lefty Grove, George Kell, Nap Lajoie, Eddie Plank, Al Simmons, Tris Speaker, Rube Waddell, and Zack Wheat. They were World Series Champions on three occasions: 1910, 1911 and 1913. In 1929, they were arguably considered Greatest Baseball Team Ever. They moved in to Oakland in 1968, renamed the Oakland Athletics, and under the management of Bob Kennedy, made quite a debut, with Catfish Hunter pitching a perfect game. Roughly a year after, they won a World Series Championship again. They are a Major League Baseball team who does not know how to disappoint.
